  1. Manufacturing Processes for Nonwoven Geotextiles:  Understanding how nonwoven geotextiles are manufactured will give the engineer a better understanding of product applications and limitations.  (1 PDH)

  2. Manufacturing Process for Woven Geotextiles:  This section covers the multi-stage processes for manufacturing Woven Geotextiles and will highlight the differences with Nonwoven production. (1 PDH)

  3. Testing of Woven and Nonwoven Geotextiles:  This section is designed to familiarize the atendee with the methods used to test geotextiles and how those tests relate to the survivability and performance of geotextiles in field applications. (1 PDH)

  4. Separation and Stabilization Geotextiles:  This section will cover applications using woven and nonwoven geotextiles as they are used in the construction of paved and unpaved roads.  An introduction to the R.A.C.E Road Design Software by Propex Inc. will be included in this section. (2 PDHs)

  5. Filtration and Drainage Geotextiles:  This discussion will deal with the use of nonwoven geotextiles, primarily nonwoven, in subsurface drainage systems. (1 PDH)

  6. Hard Armor Slope and Channel Protection:  This module covers the use of woven and nonwoven geotextiles under rip rap and manufactured block systems. (1 PDH)

  7. Sediment Control:  This section will cover the proper use of a wide variety of sediment control products to include product selection and installation.  (1 PDH)

  8. Steepened Slopes, Embankment Stabilization, Retaining Walls and Flood Control Dikes:  The stabilization of slopes can be achieved in many ways.  This section covers hard armor applications and how geotextiles are selected and used for these applications.  Construction of Retaining Walls using both woven and nonwoven geotextiles will also be covered in this section. Items to be discussed will include fabric wrapped walls and block walls.  The use of woven geotextiles for flood control dikes will also be part of this section. (2 PDHs)

  9. Pavement Interlayer Systems:  The broad family of Paving Fabric Interlayers will be covered in this section.  This will include nonwoven and fiberglass paving fabrics, self-adhesive repair membranes, high strength composite membranes and fiberglass grids (with and without a paving fabric).  Proper installation techniques for all of the paving materials will be emphasized as well as when and where to use each product over the others in the family. (1 to 3 PDHs)

  10. Environmental Uses:  There are multiple ways to use geotextiles in environmental applications.  These uses will be discussed as they relate to landfills, retention ponds and underground structures.  This section will also cover the use of Geomembranes associated with these applications.  (1 PDH)

  11. AASHTO  M-288:  The AASHTO guidelines for geotextiles are widely accepted by the geosynthetics industry.  A review of these specifications and how they relate to the geotextiles presently on the market will be included here.  The AASHTO Guidelines will be compared to the respective DOT QPL/APL's. A product cross reference chart, which will include most geotextiles from the key manufacturers, will also be discussed.  This is intended to be a general guideline to performance equals for most geotextiles.   12. Reviewing Geotextile Specifications:  Understanding which performance specifications are important to any given project is key in selecting the correct fabric. Actual project specifications will be reviewed for proper fabric selection. (1 PDH)

  13. Introduction to Geogrids:  This section will cover the basics of uniaxial and biaxial Geogrids, their use and the key players in the market.

  14. Introduction to Rolled Erosion Control Materials:  This will involve an introduction to the wide range of RECP’s, from Single Net Straw to High Performance Turf Reinforcement Mats.  The presentation will include recommended products for applications and installation guidelines.  The scope of the erosion market will be covered along with the key players in manufacturing. (1 PDH)
